Source: Team Fortress 2 BGM: Kirby Air Ride - Grass
Team Fortress 2 is a pretty popular source amongst the YTPMV community (I sort of see it as the western equivalent of NND’s Shuzo Matsuoka: any new fad and you gotta do it with that source first). I’ve gained a recent liking for the Grass theme, and the syncing of Scout’s lines with the music is always great.
It loops too.
DRAGONINDEX
BGM: DRAGONLADY Source: To Aru Majutsu no Index
Yeah, I…This is pretty amazing. I’ve only seen DRAGONLADY used as a song a couple of times but this has perfect rhythm and even if it didn’t just…fucking look at it! It’s like porn for your eyes, seriously. I really love it when you can tell a LOAD of effort was put into the visuals, it looks so good.
yeah i even found the perfect song for it
Sources: Banana Phone, Amateur, Applebee’s Crayons, Metalocalypse, Me Playing My Synth, Manbungo, Meet the Spy, Even Flow, FL Studio Drums, Nyheter För Döva, Inte Bara Glögg, Black Rock Shooter, Enchrito After Dentist, Crank Dat (Soulja Boy), Marcus’ Corner, 175_Heavystepper.wav BGM: Rock My Emotions
McMaNGOS only really dabbles in YTPMV occasionally but when he does the results are pretty excellent. Of course with such a massive amount of sources (note: the list of sources was compiled by McMaNGOS himself, if he hadn’t written it down I probably would’ve put “Too many to count”) there’s not really much room for anything other than pitchshifting although the Soulja Boy section is brilliant.
Banana phone kid is pretty funny too.
Big Beat Mario
BGM: Original mix Source: Hotel Mario
This is easily the best original YTPMV I can think up offhand, and also one of my favorite YTPMVs in general. While the visuals aren’t particularly spectacular, it does give you an idea of all the layers put in to create the song itself, which is more the point of this YTPMV. The song is excellent and well made. When I think YTPMV, this is usually the first one that comes to mind. Enjoy!
Dieto Legends
BGM: Blumebear Battle Theme - Megaman Legends OST
Source: Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt
I have personally seen next to nothing in terms of MADs/YTPMVs for PSG, which is a bummer since the source seems ripe for the picking. this is one of the few good ones floating around out there. enjoy!
Made popular by having its airtime during Puella Magi Madoka Magica episode intermissions, the Morning Rescue advert soon became popular in the west when [gg] fansubs kept the advert in their videos. Morning Rescue is also somewhat of a meme itself, but its popularity quickly decreased.
Chargeman Ken is a love it or hate it source, but you can’t deny the large amount of exploitable samples it has (Hoshi-kun’s notorious EYYYY, Ken faking his charge up sequence). A bit of a unique Touhou song to use (people usually go for old favourites like Nuclear Fusion or U.N. Owen) but this comes off as sounding very good and the visuals towards the end are quite spectacular.
BGM: Corridors of Time-Chrono Trigger OST
Source: Lucky Star
This MAD is interesting in that unlike most MADs which are very fast paced (at least at some parts), this one starts slow and never really picks up. But its still incredibly relaxing and incredibly well done.
Night Of Pony ★ ナイト・オブ・ポニー
BGM: Night of Nights Source: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
This YTPMV (or more like PonyMV) takes the cake of most youtube-origin MAD influenced videos. Definitely a must-watch.
Accelerator Heaven 【一方通行×Second Heaven 禁書音MAD】
BGM: Second Heaven Source: To Aru Majutsu No Index NicoNico Source
This MAD is pretty much Accelerator-centric (obviously from the title); and to those who are familiar with Majutsu No Index, Accelerator is pretty much… well you know. Overall, this MAD has a great kick start, dies down during the middle, then somehow gets back up on its feet again towards the end. However, the clips chosen didn’t do much justice for the whole vid, but the use of sound effects from the source clips increased its appeal.
